The festival is planned to last for 3 days, starting from September 27-29, 2019. With center of activity in ex 405 Cilacap Battalion Field. And taking route to Cilacap Square and Teluk Penyu Beach.

This routine agenda in Cilacap Regency, was formerly called “Alms of Sea Ceremony”. But this year it will be packaged in an event titled “Fishermen Festival”. The name change was carried out in order to reduce turmoil arising among community as last year.

Head of Cilacap Regency Sports and Tourism Agency (Disporapar), Heroe Harjanto said. The series of events will take place on September 27-29, 2019. Such as traditional fishing ceremonies, Central Java Culinary and Herbal Festivals, and Entertainment Stage.

“Usually in Pendopo, this year implementation is in Battalion 405 Field. As usual in this traditional ceremony, there is a handover of Jolen. The route continues towards Alun-Alun, turn left toward Turtle Bay.” said Heroe, Thursday (5/9/2019).

This festival will be participated by 35 regencies and cities in Central Java. In addition, a declaration of herbal medicine and mass herbal medicine. With an estimated 1000 participants will be held.

In addition, this festival will be filled with a community entertainment stage. With presence of Maestro campursari “Didi Kempot” which adds to lively activities.

The background of this festival, is nothing. But a form of cultural preservation efforts and display local wisdom in Cilacap. So that cultural symbols are not eroded by times.

With this event, it is expected to attract tourists both local and outside tourists to come to Cilacap. And revive stretching of tourism which had collapsed due to negative issues.
