CILACAP.INFO – A lecturer in political science at Australian National University, and Burhanuddin Muhtadi, a lecturer in social and political science at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, said that Nahdlatu Ulama (NU) is an intolerant Islamic organization.
As a result, results of their research drew criticism from community, especially residents of Nahdliyin (NU).
Maybe their analysis is wrong. It is precisely largest Islamic organization in Indonesia and world called Nahdlatul Ulama is very tolerant.
In fact, NU protects Indonesian people and protects other religions from acts of intolerance.
If there is no NU, then Indonesia can be like in Syria. Namely, war with fellow nations themselves due to problem of othher religions.
Especially if you look at history of Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur), who is a figure who is very tolerant and respected by other religions as father of humanism.
NU has 3 brotherhood rules, namely Ukhuwah Islamiyah, Ukhuwah Wathaniyah and Ukhuwah Bashariah.
The three meanings above are quite clear that brotherhood of fellow Muslims, fellow humans in homeland, as well as fellow humans proves that NU is very tolerant.
We strongly agree with Husni Mubarok who is a Researcher, Center for Study of Religion and Democracy (PUSAD) Paramadina. As he wrote on theconversation.com page.
If you look at what was written by Husni Mubarok, that in conducting research, it requires data and direct spaciousness, so that it is accurate and can be trusted.
We add, in education like lectures only, if a student has entered semester 5. Then they conduct learning activities in a field called KKN (Real Work Lecture). So students know about research they find.
Then what if a researcher conducts research without data. Then it might even produce wrong research.
