Arriving in Cilacap, 13 crew members from Philippines are positive Covid-19

Cilacap.info English – 13 foreign crew from Philippines arrived at Tanjung Intan Cilacap Port carrying refined sugar from India.

However, when they arrived in Cilacap and were examined, there were 13 crew members from Philippines who were positive for Covid-19.

It is known that they were foreigners from Philippines who brought refined sugar from India on April 14, 2021 and arrived in Cilacap, namely April 25, 2021 at 16.00 WIB.

When crew was examined, crew looked healthy and fit, but when tested for antigen 3 out of 20 were detected to be exposed to Covid-19.

Meanwhile, from PCR examination results received on April 26, 2021 at 17.14 WIB, Regional Secretary (Sekda) of Cilacap Regency said that results were positive for Covid-19.

“On April 28, 2021, Boarding Officer of KKP Class II-1 Cilacap took genome samples from three crew members who were confirmed positive to be sent to Balitbangkes of Indonesian Ministry of Health,” said Farid Ma’ruf.

On April 30 to May 4, 2021 crew of foreign-flagged ship was evacuated to Cilacap Regional Hospital and a PCR examination was carried out in stages on them.
