According to BMKG, earthquake centered at coordinates 6.12 South Latitude and 110.55 East Longitude. About 53 km northwest of Jepara, at a depth of 578 km did not cause a tsunami.
The Head of Jepara Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Arwin Noor Isdiant. He said that there had been no reports of damage caused by earthquake.
“This earthquake was indeed not received by residents, including information in coastal area until now there have also been no reports of entry related to earthquake.” He said.
A resident of Keling Subdistrict in Jepara who was outside house when earthquake happened said that he did not experience tremor.
“I just found out what if we struck island at 5:55 a.m.” Added Hari, a resident of Keling.
Anwar, a resident of Mantingan Village, Annual District, Jepara, also did not feel vibrations. Likewise, residents who live on Karimunjawa Island.
However, a resident of Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, claimed to feel tremor. “I feel tremor that gained its epicenter in Jepara Regency,” said Arif, a resident of Bantul.
Arwin said, since beginning of 2020 until now Jeparas Regency has faced three earthquakes, but none of them caused damage.
