BMKG: There is a Very High Wave Potential of up to 6 Meters in South Waters of Java

Cilacap.info English – Climatology and Geophysics Meteorology Agency (BMKG) through Tunggul Wulung meteorological station. That there is a potential for high waves of 1.25 – 6.0 meters, starting today Thursday (7/16) – Sunday (7/19).

Affected waters include Central Java (Central Java), West Java (West Java) and DIY (Special Region of Yogyakarta).

As forecasts, waters affected by high waves in West Java are in waters of Sukabumi – Cianjur, Garut Pangandaran, South Indian Ocean, West Java.

In Central Java, Cilacap Waters, Kebumen – Purworejo, South Indian Ocean, Central Java. And waters of DIY (Special Region of Yogyakarta).

That potential for high waves is influenced by speed of wind blowing from Northeast to Southeast with a speed of 4-20 Knots. With weather forecasts experiencing light rain, such as for high waves 1.25 to 6 meters are classified as very high.
