PSSI Appoints Uden Kusuma as Manager of 2021 SEA Games National Team

JAKARTA, Cilacap.info English – PSSI officially appointed Police Brigadier General Uden Kusuma Wijaya to be manager of Indonesian national team that will compete in upcoming 2021 SEA Games. The determination was made by PSSI at Executive Committee (Exco) meeting on Monday (3/5).

PSSI Chairman Mochamad Iriawan said that election of Uden Kusuma was based on his proposal and was approved by all Exco PSSI members.

“We think Pak Uden deserves to assume position of manager of Indonesian national team at upcoming 2021 SEA Games. He has capacity and ability as a team manager, and he also has experience in Indonesian football, “said Iriawan.

As is known, Uden currently also serves as an expert at Ministry of Youth and Sports (Kemenpora). He is also Chairperson of DKI Jakarta PSSI Asprov.

“We hope that Uden is able to carry out his duties well and PSSI gives full support to him. Moreover, we are targeting Indonesian national team to win gold in upcoming 2021 SEA Games, “he added.

Meanwhile, Uden Kusuma admitted that he was ready to assume position in accordance with decision of PSSI. This is certainly a mandate that must be carried out well, especially when PSSI is targeting national team to win gold in event.

“I would like to thank Ketum and Exco PSSI for trust given to me. As a manager, of course, first thing I will manage is players. “I will communicate with national team coaches about which players will be selected,” said Uden.

“My job as a manager is to manage aspects related to needs of team up to start of match. I will bridge interests of team,” he added.
